While the summer festival season is coming to a close, there’s still a huge range of autumn festivals and other music events coming up this year. Here’s our round up for September:

World In A Day Music Festival

When:
1st September
Where:
The Fold at Bransford
What:
A new small festival showcasing a breadth of world music, from blues to Indian classical. There’s both a large covered and a large uncovered area to watch the bands from, so you’ll be able to keep dry whatever the weather. The Fold is also known for its high quality ethical food, so you can enjoy delicious locally sourced dishes while listening to the music.

The British Paraorchestra – The Nature of Why

Southbank Centre, London
What:
Inspired by Nobel prize-winning theoretical physicist Richard Feynman, this fusion of dance and live music sees the stage become a site of discovery. The show merges a brand new cinematic live score from Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory, an ensemble of musicians from The British Paraorchestra and four dancers who erase the boundaries between audience, music and movement.

Wheels and Fins Festival

7-9th September

Joss Bay, Broadstairs
What:
Wheels and Fins is an independent music and action festival based on the golden sands of Broadstairs. The music is a mix of DJs and live bands spanning a range of genres – everything from indie to drum and bass. Meanwhile, this coastal festival also hosts the UK Mini Ramp Champs, The Extreme Bike Battle stunt show, and surf and stand up paddle boarding competitions.

Proms in the Park

Hyde Park
What:
This is one of the highlights of the BBC Proms calendar, packed with fireworks, patriotism and above all, spectacular musical performances. The traditional Last Night anthems will be performed live on stage by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Looe Music Festival

Looe, South East Cornwall
What:
Set on the stunning Cornish coast, this is a ‘grown up’ music festival that transforms the little town of Looe. There’ll be an eclectic mix of high energy music on the beach and around the harbour, as well as on street corners and local bars and eateries – no lazy Sunday grooves in sight.

Deepdale Festival

What:
Back for its second year, this chilled festival focuses on home-grown talent from Norfolk and the adjoining counties. As well as live music, there’ll also be spoken word performances, drum jams, street entertainment and a great selection of food stalls and festival shopping.
